Brandt, Frederick Arthur "Fritz", 84, was born in Salina, KS to Carl Frederick and Lillie Ellen Brandt on January 25, 1935. passed away Friday, December 20, 2019, at Quaker Hill Nursing Facility in Baxter Springs, KS. Fritz was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lillie Brandt; brother, Eugene; and sons, Richard Frederick Brandt and Jeffrey Karl Brandt. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Casidy-Brandt; son, Charles W. Brandt "Chuck" (Sarah); grandsons, Scott Brandt (Paige), Jeffrey K. Brandt (Kesha), and Mehkyiah "Ky" Brandt; great-granddaughters, Piper and Lily; great-grandsons, Jaxon, Ryker, Konnor, and Keyton; nieces, Leeann Stahlheber (Kent), Nancy Easley, Molly Easley (Cody), and Stacy Casidy; nephews, Brett Graevs, Mike Casidy, Jerry Casidy, and Bill Casidy. Fitz graduated from Salina High School in 1953. He accepted a football scholarship from WSU and was on the winning Missouri Valley Championship team. He also loved baseball and basketball., and was a referee and umpire for the YMCA and many local groups. Majoring in college in Geology, led him to open his own drafting company making oil field maps from seismic readings, GEO Drafting. He also achieved a degree of Divinity (ministry) from Sewanee University of the South. During the late 1970's and 80's, he served small towns in Kansas in the Christian churches, until they were strong enough to obtain a parsonage and get their own full-time minister.
