Franklin Maupin

Maupin, Franklin Dale, 75 of Wichita, KS was called home on January 12, 2018. He was born on February 2, 1942 to William Franklin Maupin and Luvean Rowland Maupin in Murray, KY.

Dale was a 1961 graduate of Murray High School, Murray, KY; a U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sergeant retiree after almost 23 years of service. After his career with the Air Force, he was employed at Sandia Labs in Albuquerque, NM with security clearance for 14 years and Rockwell Collins in Wichita, KS for 10 years before retirement there. First and foremost, Dale was a dedicated believer in his Savior, Jesus Christ. As a member of Country Acres Baptist Church in Wichita, he had been active in the Men's Ministry and had served as co-teacher of an Adult Sunday School Class. He loved golfing, fishing, and college sports; was a very loving, caring husband, dad/stepdad, Papa, friend and neighbor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his fun loving fishing companion brother, Jerry Maupin and beloved sister, Martha Jackson.

Dale is survived by his wife, Jackie Washer Maupin; daughters, Kimberly Mekler, Lakeland, FL & Letitia Ludlow, Queen Creek, AZ. He is also survived by Jackie's children whom he loved as his own: David Sykes (Sarah), Hickory, KY, Daina Schatzman (Steve), Wichita, KS; fourteen grandchildren: Michael & Lindsey Asselin, Kayla, Ashley, Noah, Montana, Topanga, Shadrach, and Luke Ludlow, Emma & Molly Schatzman, Will, Clay, and Addi Sykes; sister, Letitia Johnson of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, brother-in-law, Willie Jackson, sister-in-law, Jeanne Maupin both of Murray, KY.

A memorial Service will be held at Country Acres Baptist Church, 2:00pm, Monday, January 22, 2018. Burial will be at Murray City Cemetery, Murray, KY.
