Frank Garcia

Frank J. Garcia, 67, of Wichita, Kansas, passed to his eternal home on Sunday, January 9, 2022, in Wichita at Ascension St. Francis Hospital surrounded by his wife and children.

He was born in Newton, Kansas, on December 15, 1954, to Marcelo and Yolanda Garcia. He married Gay Lynn Garcia on November 7, 1981. Together Frank and Gay lived in Wichita for 40 years.

Frank worked for Boeing and Spirit Aerosystems for 37 years until retirement in 2019. He enjoyed singing and serving at Countryside Christian Church, East Evangelical Free Church, and Metro East Baptist. He spent many years coaching basketball and providing life lessons to student-athletes across the city of Wichita. He also enjoyed volunteering inside his children’s schools. Frank and his wife both loved spending time with family, especially with their three grandchildren.

Frank dedicated his life to providing for his wife and children and teaching them about the love of Christ.

Awaiting their heavenly reunion is his wife, Gay Lynn Garcia, his children Ron & Azaria Bowman, Bryant & Alyssa Andrews Jr., and Zach & Anna Garcia; 3 grandchildren BJ Andrews, III, Baylor Andrews, and Logan Garcia; siblings Mario Garcia, Antonio & Sharen Garcia, Victor & Pam Garcia,  Estela & Gerald Perry, Gilbert & Kim Garcia, and Maria & Oscar Avila; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Vangie and Amparo Garcia; sister-in-law Judy Garcia; father and mother-in-law Bill & Mary Pennington.

Frank’s celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Christ Church in Wichita. (14242 E. 21st St. N, Wichita, KS 67230) Lunch will be provided to family and friends following the service.

Arrangements were made through Cozine Memorial Group @ Cozine Life Events Center and Christ Church.
