Eugene "Gene" Lies

Eugene "Gene" Leo Lies went home to be with his Lord Monday, February 3rd, 2025 at the age of 81. Gene was born in Colwich, Kansas on September 5th, 1943 to Alphonse "AC" and Marie Lies. He graduated from Andale High School in 1961.

Gene met his future wife Jeanette Evans and they were married in Colwich, Kansas in 1964. They had two wonderful children together. He left a family legacy of being married 60 plus years.

After 20 plus years of service, Gene retired from the gas company. He enjoyed his hobbies of hunting, fishing, sprint car races, fixing cars, and spending time with family. In addition to his hobbies, he found fulfillment in being a handyman for his family and friends. His home was his castle.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Marie Lies; siblings, Bill (Pat) Lies, Kathleen (Maurice) Brand; and brother-in-law, Gary (Elaine) Evans.

Gene leaves behind his wife, Jeanette Lies; daughter, Michelle (Michael) Massey; son, Kirk Lies; grandchildren, Taylor, Matthew (Itzel), Addison, Mason, Macadam, and Kylie; 3 great-grandchildren, Jayden, Araceli, and Matteo; siblings, Bob (Marilyn), Virginia (Jerry), Dennis (Carol), and Fred; and brother-in-law, Keith (Judy) Evans.

A visitation will take place from 2:00-4:00pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025, Gene and Jeanette's 61st wedding anniversary, at The Cozine Life Events Center.

A Service to Celebrate Gene's life will take place at a later date, please check back for details.
