Edward C. "Ed" Lambert, Jr. beloved husband went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2024.
- Ed was born in Mendon, MO to Edward C. Lambert and Virginia Lee (Price) Lambert. He was the first of six boys born. Ed grew up and graduated high school in Rothville, MO in 1947. He was married and farmed in Missouri and Illinois before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1951 where he served four years during the Korean War.
- He and his first wife, June moved to Wichita, KS in 1955. They were married for 25 years and had two children. During his 14 years at Boeing, Ed spent time in Okinawa, Japan working on helicopters there during the Vietnam War.
- In 1969, he started his second career at the City of Wichita as a Parks Security Officer. During which time, he attended WSU earning a Criminal Justice degree in 1973 and a Bachelors of Science in 1975. There he met his second wife Lynda, they were married until her death in 2002.
- After retiring from the City in 1991, he spent most days at auctions going through junk and selling antiques.
- In 2005, youthful as ever, at age 75, he and Patty married. He remained her faithful husband companion and best friend for the next 19 and a half years.
- He served faithfully at Immanuel singing in the choir, security, and volunteering in the FLC for as long as he was able. Ed also enjoyed being a longtime member of the Gideons.
- Many who have had the privilege of knowing Ed will remember his wit and humor. He treasured time with the family especially with the grands and great grands; and of course, his dog Rosie.
- Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Virginia Lambert; five younger brothers, Paul Dale, Herbert, Marvin, Ronald, and Glen; first wife, June; second wife, Lynda; infant son, Edwin Lambert; grandson, Justin Reger; and great-grandson, Tyler Fields.
- Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia "Patty" Lambert; daughter, Rhonda Reger; son, Robert Lambert; step-daughters, Veronica (Wayne) Bentley, Linda (Mike) Kissire, and Jonna (Donnie) Ward; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Broadway Mortuary. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Immanuel Baptist Church. A private burial will take place later.
