Rush, Dr. Howard Edwin, 98, retired Dentist and WWII Veteran, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018. Visitation with family will be 12:30 pm, Thursday, Dec. 27, and Funeral Service will be 1:30 pm, both at Dawson United Methodist Church. Interment to follow at Kensington Gardens. Howard was born Aug. 23, 1920 in LaCygne, KS. He received his dental degree from UMKC School of Dentistry in 1952. He practiced in Butler, MO for five years. In 1956, he was joined in marriage to Doris Marie Cowley. In 1957, he purchased his dental office in Wichita, KS where he practiced dentistry until 1985. After retirement, Howard and Doris enjoyed spending time with family and traveling in their camp trailer. Howard also enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood carving. He was preceded in death by parents, Edwin “Ed” and Margaret Rush; brothers, Paul, John and Ellis; sisters, Lois and Jane. Survivors include his beloved wife, Doris; brother, James “Jim”; sons, Edwin (Beth), Kendal (Tammy) and Ronald (Maria); six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
