Abraham, Dr. Francis , 78, died March 3, 2016. Trisagion and funeral service at 7:00 pm, Monday, March 7th, at St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral. Burial at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 8th, at Old Mission Cemetery. Francis was raised in Wichita, KS. He was a proud graduate of North High and Friends University. He received his D.P.M. from the Illinois School of Podiatric Medicine and had a practice for 55 years of dedicated service to his patients. He served his country in the Air National Guard as an Airman First Class. Francis married the love of his life Phyllis in 1964 and they spent the next 52 years raising a wonderful family. He was a devoted father who was always there for his children, Craig, Scot, and Holly. Attending their events was one of his passions and he was proud to have never missed one of their games. This tradition carried on with his grandchildren when Phyllis and he would travel to all of their grandkids events in Oklahoma City and at St. Marks. He was blessed with his two daughters-in-law, Nanette and Gina, and his son-in-law, Tom, as he loved them as his own. Another passion of his was watching westerns, KU and WSU basketball, Chiefs Football and his weekly shows. Francis loved his sisters, brother, in-laws, cousins and he had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews and they affectionately called him "Uncle Doc". Having lunch at Toni D's and evenings spent having dinner with his friends truly made him happy. Francis was a life-long member of St George Orthodox Christian Church, and his favorite times at church were sitting through Orthros and working the Big Dinner, but nothing brought him more joy than having his grandchildren in church with him. A special thank you to all of those who provided health care. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Idell. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; sons, Craig (Nanette) Abraham of Oklahoma City, OK and Scot (Gina) Abraham of Andale; daughter, Holly (Tom) Tacheny of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Kelsey, Andrew, Abby, Cami, Callie and Eli Abraham and Juliet Tacheny; sisters, Joyce (Hank) Farha and Judy George, all of Wichita; brother, Dr. Larry (Judy) Abraham of El Dorado, KS; brothers-in-law, Bill Massad and Robert (Irene) Massad, all of Oklahoma City and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
