Peterson, Dorothy A. (Wineland), 94, passed away on February 11, 2017. Graveside Services will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, Feb. 15, at White Chapel Cemetery, 1806 N. Oliver. Dorothy was born in Osborne, KS on January 4, 1923. She graduated from Alton High School in 1940. She married James D. “Pete” Peterson on May 24, 1953. Dorothy was a homemaker where she enjoyed her family and displayed great talent in sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She is survived by three children, Gary (Marchel) Peterson of Spring, TX, Sandy (Dan) Rickards of Lawrence, KS, and Roger Peterson of Wichita; brother, Oid Wineland of Alton, KS; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Hazel Wineland and husband, James D. “Pete” Peterson. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Good Shepherd Hospice.
