Main, Dennis A., age 78, died Oct. 5, 2017 from complications of frontotemporal degeneration (FTD). He was diagnosed with FTD in 2010. Born Feb. 25, 1939 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, he was preceded in death by his parents, David Main and Esther Norris, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Dennis is survived by his wife Penny; step-sister, Carrie Campbell; 3 adult children, Denice (Tim) Kuhns of Hutchinson, KS, Jeff (Jean) Main of Omaha, NE, and Darla (Randy) Schaller of Goddard, KS; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Married on July 26, 1957, Dennis and Penny enjoyed 60 years of marriage. Dennis was an entrepreneur and operated several businesses with Penny including Main Electronics, American Speedy Print, and Amateur Radio Equip. He loved learning through his hobbies and reading. His interests centered around electronics, computers, science, nature, technology, business management, education, and leadership. He was an avid Amateur “Ham” Radio Extra Class Operator with the call sign of W0YMG. He graduated from Friends University with an MBA in 1994. He enjoyed teaching as an adjunct professor at Friends University, Butler and Pratt Community Colleges. Wonderful care was provided by Reflection Living Home and Good Shepherd Hospice.
