David Hambrick

David Andrew Hambrick was born in San Antonio, TX, on April 1, 1963, to Joan Lillian Hambrick and Joseph Eugene Hambrick II. He passed away at his home in Wichita, KS on November 7, 2019. He is survived by his brothers and their families; Joseph & Cheryl Hambrick of Houston, TX, Charles & Sue Hambrick of Reno, NV and Paul & Judy Hambrick of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by his loving nephews and nieces and their families. He graduated from Judson High School in Converse, TX, and then attended and graduated from Southwest Texas University in 1989. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity and has remained active in the association and was loved by all his KA brothers. He also had the honor of being the Manager of the SWT Strutter Dance Group, he was still an active alumni member of this group and the SWT/Texas State alumi association. He loved his State of Texas and family and friends but was called to move to Kansas for his work in his life long love of "Commercial Construction". He was first employed in KS by Key Construction Company and was later employed by Slawson Company and was "VP of Construction and Operations." He had always said he was coming back to Texas as soon as he could, but came to love Kansas and his many friends and associates. He is also survived by his adopted Kansas families, Bryan & Sheila Frye and family and Bill & Marilyn Ramsey and family. He was an active member of the Wichita Wagonmasters and through his work with Slawson Brothers, he was instrumental in the development of the Pracht Wetlands Park in NW Wichita. David was a true friend and caretaker and will always be remembered for the many ways he helped others. He also was an animal lover and caretaker of all his four legged friends. He had a heart as big as his huge Texas smile.

A Kansas celebration of the life of David Hambrick will be held Sunday December 8, 2019, from 1-3pm, at the Wichita Cowtown Visitor's Center, 1865 W Museum Blvd, Wichita. KS. A Texas celebration of his life will be held in San Antonio. TX. The date will be announced later.
