Charlotte Weaver

Weaver, Charlotte Ruth, age 88, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2020, of natural causes at Comfort Care Homes in Wichita, Kansas. There will be a small Graveside Service held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Beloit, Kansas. She is predeceased by her parents, sister Charlene and brother Harold Walker. She is survived by her brother Larry Walker and his wife Suzy. Her children Gerald Weaver, Stewart and his wife Denise, and Krista and her husband Chuck Blaes. Her grandchildren JR, Geoff, Brittany, and Jordan Weaver, and Christian Blaes. Charlotte also has four great grandchildren. Born to parents Horace and Grace Walker, Charlotte was one of three children raised on a farm outside Beloit, Kansas. After graduating high school, she attended K-State University earning a teaching degree. Charlotte would be an educator for most of her life teaching junior high, high school and adult education as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor in Dodge City, Kansas. She loved learning new things and was an avid reader. She was a member of both the First United Presbyterian Church and the local chapter of P.E.O. After retirement, Charlotte moved to Larksfield Village in Wichita, Kansas, where she joined the Eastminster Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed time with family and attended the symphony and theatre. Charlotte was a devoted mother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandmother and will be forever remembered through her special Christmas cookie recipe. She had a effervescent personality and a zest for life that always made people around her smile. She looked to the lyrics of the Ella Fitzgerald song for inspiration and would always “accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative.” Her unwavering faith and love instilled in her children strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and live forever in our hearts. We bid her adieu with one of her favorite tunes: I see skies of blue, And clouds of white, The bright blessed day, The dark sacred night, And I think to myself, What a wonderful world. -Louis Armstrong.
