Mora, Carlos "Jeep", 88, retired Automobile Salesman, entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, January 21, 2018, after a long and brave battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 23, at Broadway Mortuary, and Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, January 26, at All Saints Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. At a young age, Carlos joined the US Navy and served as a Firefighter stateside. After being discharged, he married Mary Samores on July 29, 1950. They were married for 36 years when she passed away in June of 1986. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Alex Mora, Erlinda Ortiz, Concha Villapando, Marina Gutierrez and Lupe Bowers. Survivors include daughters, Judy (John “Buck”) of Wichita, and Anita (Warren) of Topeka; son, Edward of Wichita; siblings, Tony and Joe Mora, Sally King and Nico Schmidt, all of Wichita; grandchildren, Vanessa, Zac and Santino; and 6 great-grandchildren. The journey was long but together with the Brewster Kaizens, the road was filled with smiles, love and laughter. A special thanks to Diane who cared for Carlos like he was family.
