Bobby Bedwell

Family and friends of Bobby E Bedwell mourn his passing on October 18, 2015. Bobby, as he was known to his friends- and Babe, Daddy, Ole Man, Grandpa Bob, and Papa, as he was known to his family, has left a legacy of generosity to all he came in contact with. At the age of 17, Bobby joined the US Air Force where he devoted 26 years to his country, retiring in 1979 as a Senior Master Sergeant from McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas. At the same time of his retirement, Bobby obtained his BS from Newman University in Wichita followed by his MBA from Webster University. After retirement, Bobby worked as a Training Manager for The Boeing Company, retiring in 1995. Bobby will be missed by all he knew during his 79 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary “Gwen” and his son Micah, both of Wichita and his son’s family, Tom and Linda Herman, Irrevence Bedwell and Echo Bedwell of Cleveland, his daughter Valerie DuCharme and her husband Ron of Chicago, and his daughter Holly Morrison and her husband, Christopher, and children, Emmilyne, Beckam, and Arabelah of Dallas. He also leaves behind his adorable Pug Puppy, Khaki-named after his military uniform he wore for years–as well as nieces and nephews in and around Chattanooga TN. Bobby was the son of Virgil and Inez Bedwell and was the brother to six siblings, Lloyd, Marie Nance, Gladys “Louise” Fincher, Mary “Agnes” Counce, EW “Butch” and ND “Boots”, all who have passed before him. A man of integrity, character, sly sense of humor and few words, Bobby will be missed but will be remembered for his love of animals, his generosity to his family and penchant for helping his military buddies. The world has lost a humble, selfless and kind man. Graveside Services will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, October 22, Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery, 1208 N. College St., Winfield, KS.
