Betty Scruggs

Scruggs, Betty Jean, 75, born 2-8-41. Betty graduated from Southeast High School, and Wichita State University where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, Parnassus staff, Army Blues, Inter-Greek Council, and the Women’s Recreational Council. Betty had a love of horses and was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association. She worked for many years as Manager of Parts Systems at J.I. Case Company (CaseIH). She also participated in coed volleyball. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Scruggs, and her parents, John and Eula Dixon. She is survived by her cousins, Dawne Pyles, Merriam, KS, Dr. Richard G. Weeks, Jr., Milford, PA, and Angela Ellison, Jordan, MN, and many friends, including long-time friend and competitive dancing partner, Bruce Bachelder. Memorial Service will be held at Reflection Ridge Retirement Community, 2300 N. Tyler, Wichita, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Inurnment will be at Benton Cemetery, Benton, KS, at a future time.
