Kizzire, Bernice Faye 88, entered Heaven on December 15, 2015. She will be fondly remembered for playing piano, singing hymns, never passing a garage sale without stopping, speeding tickets (“I was just tapping my foot to KFDI, Officer”), decorating everything, and naming each of her cats “Missy” so as not to forget their name. An admitted terrible cook, she could devil an egg like no other. Her garden always flourished with the help, she would say, of mannequin scarecrows, especially if the wig was dark. She worked decades for Damm Pharmacy always entertaining customers with her conversation and clothing choices. Her joy and gifts live on through her children Nancy (Steve) Ayala, Mike (Linda) Kizzire, and Teresa (Steve) Minor; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and too many nieces and nephews to list, though she knew each one by name. Bernice is survived by her husband of 70 years, Grady Kizzire. A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 27, at Sunnyside Baptist Church, 2618 E. Morris St., Wichita, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the Botanica Gardens of Wichita. Share condolences at www.CozineMemorial.com. Arrangements by Broadway Mortuary.
