Barbara Jean Rich went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 28.
She was born on August 20, 1932, in Martinsville, Va. to William and Iva Dell (Rutledge) Eanes. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 23 years, David Kubik; son, William Rutledge Kubik; son-in-law, Mike Evert; husband of 34-1/2 years, Dale Rich.
She is survived by daughter, Debbie Kubik Evert; daughters Marilyn (David) Fuqua; and Lynda Rich; daughter-in-law, Carol Kubik. Grandchildren Donnie (Laura) Fuqua and Cyndi (Edgard) Torres. Great-grandchildren, Piper, Milo and Rhys Fuqua; Aubrey and Aidan Torres. Also step grand-daughters, Casey (Jesse) Osborne and Hayley (Chris) Rogers; Step-great-grandchildren, Ariella and Camilla.
Barbara was graduated from Newport News High School, Newport News, Va. in 1950 and graduated from Madison College in Harrisonburg, Va. in 1952 with an associates degree in business.
She was employed by the U.S. Army Transportation Corps, Fort Eustis, Va. from 1952-1960, then moved to Kansas with new husband, David Kubik. She later worked as owner/decorator of Cakes by Barbara for several decades. She specialized in wedding and birthday cakes.
Barbara was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and member of Immanuel Baptist Church since 1974 where she taught Bible study classes, was a leader in Women's Missionary Union, a member of church adult choirs and ensembles at both churches.
At Immanuel, she started the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering Post Office, which is still happening every year during December.
Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery.
