Albert Risley, Jr.

Albert L. Risley, Jr., age 64, passed unexpectedly on Monday, December 16, 2019 at his home in Wichita, KS. He was born on July 18, 1955 in Boise City, OK to Albert L. and Hazel M. (Hull) Risley. He was a 1973 graduate of Great Bend High School and attended multiple colleges. Although he never quite attained his elusive degrees, he developed lifelong friendships and sharpened his legendary card playing and ping pong skills. He married Elizabeth E. Rodie on September 19, 1980, and to this union, two daughters were born: Julia A., a Registered Nurse in Wichita and Emily N., a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa. Albert, who always claimed he was named after Albert Einstein for obvious reasons as well as after his father, spent most of his career in sales with water well companies: He was known as a go-to guy who would always go the extra mile for both his customers and his coworkers. Albert is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his children, Julia A. (James) Griffith and Emily N. Risley; brothers, Allyn W. (Jill) Risley and Verlyn R. (Debbie) Risley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Julia; his parents, Albert and Hazel; and his sister, Carolyn Risley Hill. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 21, at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway in Wichita, with a viewing at 9:30 AM.
